1. The TV remote above all else. And the TV if I walk too close to it when it's on.

2. The only thing I can think of is the remote is bigger than he is. He probably hates it as well as being scared of it, because it gets lots of my attention (from his point of view). The TV makes a bit more sense, with all the quickly moving pictures. He gets especially upset when the screen goes red, like animated ads with a red background. He doesn't have a general fear of the colour red, though, just on TV.

3. He's started walking over to it on the couch and sitting next to it,which is great progress. I give him lots of praise and scritches when he just sits, and tell him off when he attacks it.

4. Interesting question. Nothing specifically, but I expected him to freak out when we moved house, but he was completely relaxed about the new surroundings. I think he's so strongly bonded to me that as long as I'm here the surroundings don't matter. OH also I expected him to flip out during fire alarms in the apartment building, but he just dashes down my top so is pretty easy to catch (thank Gd!!).

5.Does the Hulk count as a famous monster? Loki is usually the sweetest, most loving little guy ever, but you wouldn't like him when he's angry (or scared). Any tips to counter displaced aggression, people? Maybe I should have said the Wolf-Man, because he takes chunks out of me when scared or angry.

OH also I expected him to flip out during fire alarms in the apartment building,

We had a fire scare a few weeks ago, fire alarms went off in our building at 3am. Turned out it was due to someone burning a pizza, but before I knew that I threw Kappa in her sturdier carrier and I was nearly out the door with her when a neighbor came and told us about the pizza. For the next few weeks Kappa was terrified of that carrier. She got over it though when I left it under her cage for a while and she went down to explore it, and she now thinks it's a playgym. :-P

I have to do a bit of 'throwing' Loki into the carrier too - I have real thing about fire, so I freak out when the alarm goes off even more than he does, and he tends to get a bit manhandled in the name of speed. He knows what the carrier means (usually PEDICURE AT THE **VET** DUN DUN DUN OOOOH SCARY) so he's not happy when it comes out, but he's not actually *scared* of it, which I guess is lucky.

TV remote reminds me: one of my birds gets REALLY cranky if I pick up my cellphone in her presence. I've gotten a few hard bits because she was on one shoulder when I put the phone to the other ear :( Don't know if that's a fear thing or a possessive/jealous thing, but she and the phone are about the same size.

Sunshine sees my phone and the remote as potential baby-daddies. :D
