The lady I was adopting from backed out on me at the last possible moment, after I'd invested thousands of dollars into my bird-studio, and their travel expenses. I'm devastated, to say the least. My mother was furious ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear that the adoption of the other two fell through, but congrats on the Goffin! Either Charity or Wonder would work well for a name... I would personally lean towards Wonder, because it lends itself well to wordplay ('...W/wonder how THAT happened') to explain away all kinds of cockatoo silliness.

Can't wait to see the pictures once your 'too is home with you!

about 13 years ago there was a "rescue" that I wanted to adopt a Grey from. They asked for a Up front 500 bucks so the bird that I had only seen pics of could be veted, then a nother 300 for a infection, ect. Then Nothing. The Head of the rescue was replaced, and the bird, if there was a bird was given to some one else. It was very fustrating but I had not met or invested with that bird.
The Baby that I was going to buy that the seller buged out on that was heartbreaking as he had sent me pic ever day of this baby. I hate Pay pal with a buring heat of a thousand suns due to them screwing me over on sending him cash,
But it all worked out and I did end up with the BIRD THAT WAS RIGHT FOR ME. Hang in there. things happen for a reason.
