I'm a noob bird mom too! I've had my female parrotlet for 9 months and my lost rescue lovebird for 7 months. They both have very different personalities but they get along wonderfully. They HATE to be separated.

Domo, my parrotlet, has got all the fiesty-ness in the world! She's not very cuddly and it has taken me a lot of patience and millet to get her to the point of stepping up easily and flying to my shoulders and watching the computer. I opted for flighted birds from the beginning tho, which I'm sure made the training a million times harder for me. But she is hilarious to watch. She dive-bombs me when I'm on the bed, she hangs from her slinky behind me while I'm on the computer, and she destroys every toy I put out for her. She mostly chatters fairly quietly, except for times that she gets hyper (usually when I'm playing music) she can get a bit louder.

Henry, my peach-faced lovebird, has to be the sweetest boy ever. I don't know anything about his past or even if he is a boy since he is a rescue off the street, but he loves my parrotlet and he is extremely food motivated, therefore learns quickly. He is also flighted, tho he isn't as agile as Domo but he can land better. He's quite snuggly and has learned to give me kisses, never bites, and he is a joy to watch. He's always the first to learn a trick or command before Domo. His only problem is that whenever both my boyfriend and I are in the room, he decides to proclaim his love for all of us loud and clear. I've been working on him, since we intend to move into an apartment soon and cannot have him that loud. I've been trying to give him time-outs when he does this, and it seems to work, tho its taking a lot of patience on my part lol. But if you want cuddly, a lovebird is just too adorable :)

Lovebirds are very pretty! But most people seem to think you should get two but then they don't want much to do with humans :/

But that's exactly why they will love you if you only get one! Domo occasionally wants her alone time and chases Henry away from her, so he usually comes to me for affection ^.^

They are pretty cute too. I'm going to have to add them to the list.
