He's beautiful! I love those little tail feathers that are coming in! I'm so glad that he's got a good home with someone he can trust!

I really like reading about his progress. :D

I never heard of wrapping perches in twine. What the breeder I got Lenore from recommended was using vet wrap on slippery perches. It worked wonderfully and we haven't had any problems since. HIGHLY recommended!

I've used vet wrap before with good results, but I'm not sure that it'd work as well for this guy -- he needs more of a grip than I think even vet wrap can manage. Also, we had twine nearby, but not vet wrap. ;)

Glad to update!

hehehe he sure is working the side-eye in those pictures! The displeasure is evident. :) I simply canNOT wait to see him once he gets a new set of feathers, he will be stunning. Thanks for the update on his progress!

Aww, what a sweet little guy!!
I'm really hoping he will start taking treats out of the cups on the toys, & maybe eventually nibble a part or two :)

He JUST started shredding a rope perch over the past few days, so I'm really hopeful. I've added a bunch of shredders to his cage too, and the toy is still there, all filled with sunflower seeds, so we'll see. :)

I have faith I can get him to play without too much issue, it'll just take a bit.

He's a little cutie, and now you're getting him better nutrition his new feathers are going to be stunning!

My African Gray ignores most toys but LOVES anything with a bell on it. Maybe if you got a toy with a bell on it & played with it in front of him that might get him interested.

So far, he doesn't seem like a parrot who wants to make a lot of noise when he plays -- loud noises freak him out. I should probably get off my butt and write my 'how to get parrots to play with toys' post though. Maybe this will be a good kick to do so. :)

Thanks!
