New Friends

Just for the smiles, I'm sharing this photo of our quaker Andy and black-capped conure Giles, who over the last two weeks have become bestest buds.

Andy and Giles were both owner surrenders, and Andy was abused and is disabled (maimed toes and left wing) and can't fly. Giles is flighted, and spends a lot of time on and in the cage of my CAG Clancy. Just recently, Giles has started flying over to Andy's cage, inviting himself in to eat Andy's food, and on top to play with Andy's toys. We watched carefully, because Andy has heretofore been *extremely* territorial about his cage.

But he seems to like Giles, and shares his toys and treats. They preen together (but not each other, at least not yet). Now Clancy, who is not flighted, seems to want to join the party. While he can climb Andy's cage from the floor, he's never tried before. But he looks like he's considering it.

It's fun to see this little friendship growing.

multi-bird households, quakers, conures, just for fun
