Ripley (CAG) is (mostly) potty trained. Granted, he still really likes pooping on the floor when he's feeling spiteful--sometimes he will climb down off his cage, wait til I'm looking at him, then poop a huge turd on the floor--but he knows he's supposed to do it in his cage, or over a sink or trash can. He's gone potty on command at least half a dozen times today! I'm really proud.
Ananse, my senior lovebird who had a very lonely existence prior to coming home with me, is also doing really well. He still wants nothing to do with my hands, but he's very eager to hop up on a dowel. He is getting braver around me, too--he sometimes flies right past my head, or lets me put my hand close to him on a perch. And he's really picked up on my habits--get gets super excited and hops into his food bowl when I open up any food containers, he runs up to the door of his cage when I fiddle with the latch, and he goes back inside his cage in the evening when I dim the lights. He and Enyo (cockatiel) also synchronize their daily routines--they eat at the same time, preen at the same time, and even bathe in their water dishes at the same time! I'm really impressed that he's adapted so well in the past couple months.
