So, as I said in my previous post, I've had Mizu for a few years, and got her when she was about 2 months old. (I think?)
I've been trying and trying to train her but she has way too big of a "personality" (Or let's just put it that way)
Here are some problems thus far:
Afraid of any target I introduce to her (target training)
Can get nippy when overexcited or when it's time to go back in her cage (recently, she's been gettting worse, nipping me even when I go to take her out of her cage.)
LOUD chirping/yelling when I leave the room, or even just sometimes until I come to her cage
accomplishments:
Few and far between, but we've got step up, turn around, and hop. (like hop from finger to finger as opposed to stepping)
The problem with these is also that she will not do them when she doesn't want to. (Like when I need to go to class and she's desperately clinging to the top of her cage to stay out)
There's also a bit of a flying issue, but I'm pretty sure they don't make harnesses for little birds, right? Otherwise, wing-clipping doesn't work well as even though we had her wings clipped for the first few years of her life, she still tried to fly away through the house, but loses control and crashes into things. Currently, I am not clipping her wings as I really don't want her running into things and getting hurt.
Phew, that was a lot more than I originally planned on saying.
Any suggestions? Websites that might help? Anything? <33
