Actually I took both names from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, but now I'm interested what those books are about.

Shakespeare's the original. Many MANY others have borrowed those names from him, from Neil Gaiman to the moons of Uranus.

Heeee, hopefully they're not quite as mischeivous as Shakespeare's pair!

They're adorable! Is one of them significantly bigger than the other, or is that just how it looks in the last picture? Lucky those rings are two colors, cause they look almost exactly alike!

I hope so ;) But they're birds, so they will be at least somewhat mischeivous :)

Thanks! Yes, the male is bigger than the female. They do look almost alike, I guess it will take some time for me until I can really tell them apart.

Oh of course, they'll find all kinds of ways to get up to mischief! That's part of why we love parrots, right?

It won't take you that long. :) Try starting with the size and position of the green patch on their cheeks, and the red on their bellies, those seem a little different between the two in the photos, so it should be easier to tell in person. When I got my dusky she was still living with a sibling, and after just two visits I could tell she had a subtly browner fringe on her neck while his was a bit more blue. You'll also quickly figure out which one of them is more outgoing towards you, though of course personalities will evolve as they age.

Were they hand raised?

They are completely gorgeous! I love those colors. Those vivid blue flight feathers peeking out under green and over those long red tails... wow.

Out of curiosity, how tame are they? My two caiques were wonderfully tame when I got them, and that hasn't decreased in four years of housing them together. I'm always curious about other people's experiences with paired birds.

Thank you! I really love their colors, too.

They are aren't tame yet (but you can step close to them without it being a problem) but they are also only two months old. Today they already took an apple from my hand, so I'm excited how that will go, but I think it will take a while & I'll be patient.
