This.. is Poof.
Poof is my Salvadori's Fig Parrot [Psittaculirostris salvadorii] and it has been incredibly arduous finding out any kind of information on them. However, I've done my research backwards and forwards and I'm considering starting an informative website just to help others out interested in these birds. :]
I fell in love with Poof at my work before I was actually hired. Little tiny bird with a messed up face. Apparently her [starting to think Poof is a girl..] parents mutilated her beak while it was still soft.
Poof loves banana mash, soaked monkey biscuits, soaked fruit pellet and mango! <3
Does anyone else have a fig parrot? Do you keep them to breed or do you actually have it as a companion animal?
After losing my 16 year old cat [I'm almost 25, so I grew up with him] I thought I'd never find another animal I could bond so much with, but Poof has been a saving grace. Poof already started picking up on melody and imitates kissing noises for attention. :]
