Lots Of Questions
Ok, so ... a few things.
1] I need links to the best sites on Caique information. Particularly their "specs" [how big they get, temperament towards other birds and people, etc]. The more information the better!
2] I know every bird is different and we will definitely take necessary caution and steps if we do decide to go this route, but would a Caique be a generally decent choice to befriend a Conure? Also, if we did this, could they be appropriately housed together or would we have to house them separately?
3] Does anyone have and/or used a Wingabago? What about a Wingdow Seat?
4] I recently subscribed to Bird Talk [also a big fan of Dog Fancy, published by the same company] and if anyone is interested [and the mods are down with it] I'd be happy to post some of the articles from it each month. Some great stuff in these!
The whole Caique situation is nothing immediate. I tend to get things in twos [2 dogs, 2 sugar gliders] and now we are discussing a bird companion for Phoenix, our Yellow-Sided Green Cheek Conure. We want to stay in her size range - medium. She is very very very needy and I love love love that she enjoys being around us so much, but it is to the point where we could have her out for several hours and if we put her away to eat or something she will squawk and squeal away and get very upset. She won't stay on play gyms, so now I am thinking a companion would be good for her and we would then invest more in play gyms and out-of-cage things if she could be persuaded by a friend to stay upon them.

Edit: So Caiques are out. Thank you, first posters for informing me on this! We will look into likely another GCC. I would like to have a bird she can be housed with, so thank you very much to zandperl for informing me about housing other species. You guys have helped a lot so far!
