Victory is sweet

The past couple weeks have been hell trying to train Stormy. He was completely use to my face and would cuddle up under my chin and let me give him kisses. He would even let me kiss him will he was playing on the desk. But when it came to my hands he was terrified of them. If I even put them near him without a treat in them he would run to his cage screaming. Or attack them to the point where he would break the skin. So today I decided that I was going to try something different. I was going to make him face his fears and see that my hands were nothing to fear. It took me an hour of holding him praising him and giving him treats but he will now sit on my finger and loves for me to scratch his head. I know that a lot of you would disagree with this method, but I believe that as with children, birds learn differently. He has not been traumatized by this he actually seems happier. I can now move my hands and he does not freak out. He now runs to my hands for a good head scratching.
