Well, I'm in the new place. Snuck in all the critters, so lets see if I can pass this off without being evicted (I've informed my neighbors that I have birds, and if they are being disruptive, please tell me before complaining to the association or owner). I've placed the rabbit out on the balcony, and the 2 cockatiels and the caique are in the livingroom. They have all been moderately quiet, though I'm not sure if this is a "honeymoon stage" due to the recent move.
My new dilemma... the owner is slacking, and didn't have the place in "move-in condition" when the 1st hit, thus, they still need to paint the place. Well, the painter said it would take 4 days. The painter is a friend of the owner, so aside from the paint fumes, I'd rather not have the birds in there for him to find. I have a place for the caique to go (why is she sooo much easier to temp foster than a cockatiel?) but I'm having troubles with the 'tiels. Anyone in the general vacinity of San Pedro, CA willing to house some cockatiels for about 4 or 5 days? I don't have the money to board them for the duration. :(
I think he wants to start on Thursday. My only other option is to just roll the 'tiels onto the balcony for the 4 days?! Think that would be ok for them?
Cross your fingers that I can keep them in my place. Out of sight out of mind I hope?
