So, my closing barista came in whiter than a snowstorm, and he was trundling more than really walking. Becca recommended that he see if someone could cover for him. He said he thought it was too late, and that no one would. I told him to go in back and call around. I got stuff situated on the floor then went back to check on Ben. He was leaned over the wastebasket waiting to puke. I asked who he had called and told him to hit the restroom, and that I'd find somebody for him. I exhausted all possibilities but one.The last person on the list had been the opener this morning, but I gave it a shot, and wouldn't you know it, sweet little Ker came through. To open and close in one day, to work to help someone out because they're sick, that's legendary. I'm just saying. Not everyone is that thoughtful or considerate. Ker saved my night. I'm so grateful to her that closing went off without a hitch. Now I just hope Ben gets well right quick. He looked terrible. I'm not sure how he got to work in that state, or why he even tried, but I truly hope he rests and kicks whatever's ailing him. Feel better buddy!
Selflessness, don't let anyone tell you it's extinct. ;) (I'm speaking of Ker, not me, you know, for the record)
