It's another 'once in a blue moon' book posts! These are from Oct through now, with a huge gap for December; working seven days a week meant a lot of tv (a LOT of Top Gear) and much fic, but no actual books. Let's get to it -

Why Read Moby Dick, by Nathaniel Philbrick - eh. One of the strangest things I've ever read. It was basically like ( Read more... )

I have heard talk of this.

I...have no feeling on the matter, honestly. I have never pictured actors as characters and I cannot recall one that actually looks like what I thought they'd look like, but I usually end up loving them all the same. *g* Potter - case in point. Not one of those (billions) of people actually look like the characters I've got in my head, but I love them all anyway.

That said - Armie Hammer is so NOT what I pictured for Finnick. But I do love him.

I have not and believe you me, I have been looking. I'll check - they might not be doing ARCs for that. They didn't for Fault in Our Stars, so. I'll certainly let you know.

I haven't read Hate List. Perfect Escape was definitely a bit clunky in places, but overall, I did enjoy it.

It's sort-of amazing, man.

I mean, I remember hearing about ARCs and people just...giving you books and I always thought, 'That would be the coolest thing EVER' and that I could never have too many books.

Um - that is patently false. It is amazingly cool and I LOVE my job and has there ever been anything so right up anyone's alley?, but there are times when it's a bit 'please please stop. I cannot take anymore boxes of books!'

Now I'm intrigued - I haven't seen any Bitterblue's floating around. Hmm.
