there's something we can do with this

I actually have a lot to say, but it's all log-jammed.

So I will just say that the more I think about it, the more I loved it. And I loved it A LOT when I watched it.

But I've been thinking about it all day and carrying on several different text conversations about it and my love keeps growing.

I don't care about the sci-fi shit; that was never the draw for me. So to have all the lovely character stuff was all I required.

And just thinking about Kate saying, 'I've missed you so much' is making me want to cry again. It killed me when she actually said it, but then you realized that she had to live the rest of her life without him and. Oh God. My heart!

One other quasi-new agey thing -

I adored that they never explained what the island/cork thing WAS. I feel like that was the whole point. Was it hell? Heaven? Nirvana? The pit?

They never found out. They drove themselves crazy trying to figure it out and, in the end, they just had to accept it.

We have to accept it and that's okay because in the end, IT DOESN'T MATTER. What really mattered was the people and the relationships and that's certainly enough for one life. We'll have other ones (in heaven or back here or wherever...) to figure it out.

The last shot was PERFECT.

Now all I'm waiting for is the boxed set so I can sit my ass down and do an epic rewatch. *g*
