When did I become so defeatist about Potter? I read the title and had no reaction.

I think a reread of canon is in order.

OMG. I know you guys love it, but seriously. Why didn't someone just FORCE me to watch it before now?
I have too many thoughts right now, so I'm going to go back to watching and wrapping Christmas presents. Which.
Okay, so every year I wrap all my gifts the same. Same paper, same ribbon, etc. And for the past few years, I've done white paper with either red or green ribbon. This year I decided to go with brown paper, and white ribbon. They look so good when they're done, but can I just say that it's a total pain in the ass? I got my mom a trifle bowl, so it's in this rather large box. But since the only brown paper I could (easily) get my hands on was actual grocery bags, I had to use two of them to wrap the damn thing. Luckily, I rigged it so all the seams are hidden by the ribbon, but seriously.
Why does simplicity take so some much more effort than garishness?
