The wave cut our coffee break short but it was probably for the best as _tom_paris_ was pushing his luck. We've experienced many things in the DQ before, but a wave of this magnitude is new. There's plenty of data to go through, but my preliminary findings are interesting: I suspect the alien creature's ship is somehow biomechanically operated. What I can tell of the control interface makes me believe the creature uses its bio-secretions to power its ship. I've heard plenty of stories about this kind of propulsion and how much more agile and efficient it can be; regardless, the very idea of hooking oneself up to a machine makes me very nervous.

This news is probably best delivered to emh in person. I admit, I have an ulterior motive: I'm rather curious as to what this creature looks like.
