Well, the experiment with the slipstream drive did not work, and after a minor quarrel with
seven_of_nine,
chakotay has given me
the day off.
I've been reviewing some of the LJ logs and have noticed the Enterprise crew is due for shore leave. I believe our crew could use some as well. Specifically, I would love to have just four or five days to myself when I can go over specs and make necessary repairs. This is a finely tuned piece of machinery and the slipstream drive pushed it the edge.
I'd also like the time to figure out exactly what went wrong. The results could have been catastrophic, but thank Kahless, they weren't.
And now I need to go find
_tom_paris_. I think he promised me a dinner several engine failures ago. Might as well use this 'enforced' vacation to spend some quality time with the helm officer. Unless he's pulling double-duty as well. Which wouldn't surprise me.
Regardless, I still have the schematics for the slipstream drive. One of these days, we'll get it to work.
