Fabric Crafts for the Win! (reposted from "craftgrrl")

I'm currently spazzing out about having everything ready for my wedding at the end of this month.  I really wanted to add my own personal touches to it (as I'm sure most brides do), and so I thought, since I enjoy crafting and baking, I would do both of these things.  The baking successes are to go into another community; this post is about my crafty successes!

I decided to forego the traditional...well pretty much everything, but in this case I'm speaking about the traditional bridal bouquet, and instead of fresh flowers, my good friend and I made the most awesome bead flower/fabric flower bouquet EVAR.  After literally MONTHS of sourcing the components, watching YouTube videos on how to make artificial bouquets, and perusing hundreds of designs, we came up with something that is completely unique to me, and brings together my wedding colours beautifully (Blue, yellow, red, and a little bit o'white).

I won't/can't post the photo of the final bouquet (mainly because I haven't yet taken one, but also I want to wait until after the wedding), but I do have a couple of great pictures of the components, shown below:

The above is a photo of many of the fabric flowers I made for both the bouquet and for a DIY boutonniere station I want to set up!  The bead daisy chains are made by my good friend who made all the other components of the bouquet, as shown below:

Missing out of the picture above is a lovely yellow bead rose she made, like the white and red ones off to the left, and several beaded leaves in yellow. blue and green. These beaded flowers are predominant in the final form, as they were a PITS to make, and are really pretty!  I only ended up adding the red felt flower, two of the white/blue felt flowers, and the two turquoise fabric flowers in the final design; all the others will be boutonnieres. Nearly everything else was added to the final bouquet, which is small, compact, and rounded on the top, laced with feathers and more beadwork wires at the base, and wrapped with wide satin ribbon down the handle.  It's also unsurprisingly hefty, but that's fine; any of my guests who get stroppy with me will FEEL MY BRIDEZILLA WRATH!!! *WHAP*

Heh, just kidding. But don't tempt me.
