I promised to post pics of my Christmas crafts weeks ago.
I finally found the pictures (and the motivation) this afternoon.
Next year's decorations are going to be so amazing! When I find motivation to start those sometime this year, that is...
This is Herbert, the Differently-Abled Narwhal. He was the first plushy I ever attempted, and so there are some boo-boos, such as not enough back fin and too much horn. Oh, and his eyes don't line up. But I'm proud of him just the same.
His name is Herbert because
furious_g appropriated him for his own and named him so. This is why G doesn't get to name things.
Herbert has a fraternal twin who was improved upon from his origin and given as a Christmas gift to FormerRoomie.
Why a narwhal you ask? Because FormerRoomie and I have an annoying penchant for singing Weebl songs, our favourite of which is, aptly named, "Narwhals".
Some more crazy stuff I did with felt. they were a lot of fun to do, and I admit, I hand-stitched every stitch. which may be stupid since I own a sewing machine, but it was soothing work in front of the tv and next to the Christmas tree, so I'm not complaining. I ended up giving most of these to my mother as a Christmas gift, so now all I have are pictures. But that's ok; I have a lot of inspiration pictures for new and improved felt ornaments next year!
Other than Herbert, these are my favourite things that I made this Christmas. These tree ornaments were for a good friend, Miss Kitty, who is crazy about owls; I saw an inspiration pic online back in late November, and knew I had to make them for her! I pretty much made up my own personal pattern from the online pic. The dimensions of these little guys are hard to gauge from the photos, so I'd say they would fit into the palm of your hand easily.
And yes, she loved them.
