I think it can be fixed, though.
In chatting with a new friend this afternoon, he mentioned he was looking for a celebration cake this Saturday for friends of his that had just had a new baby.
I said, "Sure! No problem!" and took the order.
I completely forgot that I'm going to be 450 kms away in Ottawa from Friday afternoon until Sunday. And working or away virtually every other minute I'm not sleeping from now until then.
Derp.
This means a tighter timeline than I had originally planned for, and help from Roomie to drop off the cake and take the payment on Saturday while I'm gone. I'll be making the cake tomorrow (Wednesday) before my afternoon shift, the frosting Thursday evening after I come back from being unavoidably away from home for the day, and assembly on Friday afternoon in the 2 hours I have between working a 5:30AM - 2PM shift and when G gets home with the car around 4:30PM, wherein I scoot for Ottawa.
I am going to need some serious RedBull and snappy tunes for that drive, letmetellyou.
Otherwise, things are good. It's far better to be busy pursuing my dreams than sitting around sucking my thumb! Such is life. :o)
Oh, and for those who aren't on my Facebook account to see my recent creations, here are a few pics of my most recent cake, an homage to the steel door seen in the promo posters for XMen: First Class.
I need a cooler apron. This one looks like I mugged an old lady for hers (it was a gift, I swear!)
