Not going to do episode 3 because it'd just be a long list of complaints, nitpicks and grumbling at the writers. If anyone's really interested, I'll talk about it in the comments.
Episode 4:
- I'm pretty sure the tai-i duo shippers swelled in number after this episode...
- ...although Erica Hartmann is actually the hidden star behind. Nyahahahahah~
- The Jet Strikers were brought up in The Sky That Connects Us chapter 5 as being WIPs. Having the prototype appear in animated canon makes the link between 1.5 and season 2 more established. Nice.
- Seriously, everyone just treats 'Trud and Shirley's bickering as a typical occurrence (which is..true...they can even bicker through written correspondence, dear gods).
Look.- GERTRUD BARKHORN, HUMAN GUNDAM! That's the new meme going round.
- The chained-up Jet Strikers punched hard on my gigglefit acupoint. Don't know why.
- Erica's such a wonderful, caring bro throughout the episode -- when she's not being half-asleep, that is. I don't have any particular inclination towards the Barkhorn/Hartmann ship, but h-homg SUCH A BRO.
- Why did the staff have to make 'Trud's exhaustion look like someone cast Old on her, though? Those eyebags...don't look like eyebags, they look like stress lines(same difference
- On that topic, why was 'Trud naked when she woke up in the infirmary? Did Shirley strip her and run off in embarrassment?!
- Commander's wrinkles will increase more with each passing episode(ry
- Whenever the painted line in the middle of Barkhorn/Hartmann's bunk was depicted. I kept thinking, "that's a Spell Card, Yukari's fooling around again..."
BOUNDARY OF CHAOS AND SPARTA, FOR MASSIVE DAMAGE
- Siscons and boob grabs don't go together, but damn, I lolled.
- BABBY SIS ;_____; THESE ARE TEARS OF JOY and also her appearance is why I referred to Erica by first name here.
- Ursula got promoted from NCO to officer in 5 years...during which Erica hardly went up in rank at all. Madscientist-kins must have worked so hard...and the higher-ups must really, really dislike her sister (mentioned in audio dramas).
- Addressing the Jet Strikers as "kono ko" adds to Ursula's mechanics-freak portrayal ♥
- Potatoes wwwwwwww It's a Hartmann thing! Or maybe Usch chose them because her sister likes them. I CAN FANTASIZE!
Episode 5:
- From the preview, I, along with other silly gullible folks, had entertained the thought of Lucchini's mother appearing. Unfortunately, it was not to be.
- Still enjoyable, which says a lot because I don't have much interest in Lucchini at all. Must be the scenery porn; warm fuzzy memories from the days of ARIA came bubbling up...I was ooh-ing and ahh-ing along with Miyafuji there.
- Someone with sharp eyes noted that there was still plenty of food at the start of the episode when we see the kitchen wwwww rice must be extremely important to the 501st. Or maybe they got tired of having potatoes as a staple food.
- The shopping requests were, in order of appearance: unrealistic, team-building, and jaw-dropping. BY WHICH I MEAN EILA AND THE PIANO. HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE FOR SANYA?! Not to mention pianos cost a bomb...I'll wager she had been saving up for an occasion like this. Oh, Eila.
- What little image 'Trud had remaining gets steadily eroded in this episode wwww THAT DRESS
- Perrine is a good girl. It was already fact, but I have to mention it again.
- Now that they've switched bases, Hartmann no longer has a bunk filled with alarm clocks, ahahahahah. Her little screentime this episode is all a reminder of how rubbish she is on land...and how much rubbish she's accumulated in the short while the 501st moved to Romagna.
- INITIAL D S MY LAUGHING WILL GO ON
- By the way, that ^ S can stand for "Shirley," "speed," "sadist," etc.
- Lynne's foresight augurs well for her future as a commanding officer, if she does indeed decide to take that path. Her superiors have mentioned how suitable she is for grooming after all :p
- Before watching this episode, spoilers over at the yamibo forums were going wild about "redhead Natsuki"...I laughed at the screenshots then, and laughed even harder when when the Duchess showed up wwww EVEN WHEN NOT IN THE CREDITS, CHIBA-SAN WATCHES OVER THE CAST(oi, she isn't dead
- Wriggle Lucchini Kick, oh yeah~
- LOL the whole Lucchini-Maria interaction was cute. I have no other words for it, and "cute" is an understatement, but still.
- I hope Maria gets to show up again in a future episode, either so that she can meet Lucchini again or pull off a Big Damn Politicians move. Because if SW2 is anything like the first season, there will be politics involved somehow, I refuse to believe otherwise.
Now to go watch the Northerners lovelove in episode 6 \o
