Two things

First, a love letter about the TTC.

The TTC horrible. It's crowded, expensive, slow and often late on top of that. And yet, I love it. I don't have a car. I live in Brampton. I take Brampton and Mississauga transit to and from work. I use it to go shopping. I use it see friends and family. And you know what? The TTC at its slowest is roughly on par with BT and MT running normally. The slowest scheduled frequencies for the TTC are almost all every 30 min or better. BT and MT out side peak times? Good luck finding a route that does better than every 30 min. There are some that are hourly. I take a bus during rush hour that only runs every 20 minutes at that time.

It takes me two hours to get to work. Three buses. Half an hour waiting time, ten minutes walking time needed to make those transfers. The buses are crowded and bouncy and jerky and smelly. It is a distance of about 25km (depending on route) If I go from work to my dad's in the Beaches it takes the same amount of time to travel about 45km.

I have to walk three fucking blocks between two of those buses. With the TTC? Nope, 'cause they have coverage.

So I repeat, I love the TTC. Even the cost isn't an issue. Hell, both BT and MT were at $3.00 well before the TTC. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing I like better about BT adn MT is that the transfers are valid for 2 hours. (which you need so you can make the transfer between buses)

Item the second is a recent event.

I just fell down the stairs. My back and hip hurt like a mothertrucker. Ouch.
