Friday, JT and I went to play a live-action L5R (Legend of the 5 Rings-- east Asian ancient history game, for those who haven't played). Turnout was a lot larger than I expected, plot was gift-wrapped and handed to us, and Dan Nyren is the worst leader EVAR (only by way of directions. His leadership skills were pretty good :-). I'd like to say, "I'll play regularly", but we all know that it's entirely dependent upon my dependent. Though I could throw her in a kimono and take her with. She'd love that, I'm sure.
Saturday, I had class. Suxx0r. I got out late, and flew to Camp Cedarcrest to help with cleanup. We helped to get the firepit squared away (Michael and Ashley cleared, cleaned, and rebuilt the rocks. We added woodchips and awesome). The campground looks amazing, and I can't wait for the Campout in July.
The invitation was extended to join the crew at Groton by Night, which I had never played before (but I knew the ST's from Ling). Groton. Was. Awesome. I haven't enjoyed a Vampire game in a looong time. Given, I was surrounded by cool new people who remember that it's a game, and we had mass combat (which is more difficult than you would think with a 7/5/3). Again, I would like to say that I'll be back, but it's over an hour away and my childcare is sketchy at best.
Today was Changeling. I'm still in happyland from it, and expect to remain so until next month. I can't speak highly enough about Ling, its players, and its staff. 3 years, and still my favorite.
It was great seeing that
oh_faerie_nuff made it today. I know it was questionable, and I was happy (both IC and OOC) to see her there.
Huge thank you's to
mythicpoison and
justonejawa for their hospitality (we joked that it's my first free weekend in a month, and I spent it chasing Michael-- I got to L5R after him, I got to the Campground after him, and I got to game today after him. Heh). I had a great time.
Big Thumbs Up to the Groton staff. I've been playing MET Vampire since 1993, and your game was one of my all-time favorites. Even down an ST, you did a great job. Kudos.
Now it's time to begin the unwinding process, hang with the Bean a bit, make some dinner (and by "make" I mean "order Chinese"), and get some much-needed sleep. I expect to wake up tomorrow with a Game Hangover. Would that be a Gameover? ;-)
