D.C. is starting to consider actively allowing same-sex marriage.
This process is a wee bit more complicated than usual, because D.C. is not a state. Any bill that the city council passes must be approved by Congress. There'll be a fight, but I don't think it'll be much of one. D.C. already recognizes same-sex marriages performed in other states (as does New York), and its corruption level hasn't changed much since, although, to be honest, that's not really saying much.
