Well.
That was . . . odd.
Even by the standards of a Sherlock episode.
Even by the standards of a Series Three Sherlock episode.
It was well done odd, but it was still odd. I'm not quite sure what to think about [Spoiler (click to open)]Sherlock suddenly morphing into Doctor Who via the Max Headroom incident. And I'm even more convinced that the production team's grasp of real life isn't quite what they think it is. On the plus side, there wasn't really a "Yakety Sax" scene this series, so that's something.
Lengthy recaps will come in their time. I may have to rewatch the whole series again first, though.
