Author's notes: This is becoming the longest story I ever wrote.
These days, Sho could see it not only from his gesture but also from Aiba's eye. Aiba wanted to shorten the distance between them. He wanted more than a baby kiss and holding hands. He wanted to be called by his name and to call Sho with -chan. Even though he hung around Sho like air, there was certain distance.
Sho has put up what you could call a safety wall between them. If Sho let it go, he will lose sight of everything. He definitely did not want that. Not this time. And Aiba was respecting it. But Aiba knew- knew that Sho still had feelings for him.
One Friday night, just like their usual weekend visits, Sho was cooking dinner and Aiba was helping out. After he finished setting the table, he stood behind Sho, a little too close.
'What is it?' Sho asked with out turning back.
'Ne, Sho-kun.....'
'Hmmm?' Tasting the soup, Sho hummed.
'...Can I come closer...?' It was like as if the air around them stilled for a minute. Sho nodded slightly.
Aiba hugged him from behind, wrapping both arms around Sho's waist, and buried his face in the crook of neck. Sho tensed up a little before turning off the gas and putting down the ladle. He put his hands on Aiba's and leaned back a littlie, easing into him. They slowly collapsed down on the floor and Aiba tightened his embrace. Completely enclosed in Aiba, Sho closed his eyes and called out.
'Masaki.'
'........Yes?' Sho could feel that his shoulder was getting wet.
'I am still scared.'
'Yes.'
'You know that I still have all kinds of feeling for you.'
'Yes.'
'You know that I am scared about still loving you.'
'Yes.'
'And I think you still love me.'
'Yes.'
'You will never betray me again?'
'Yes.'
'You will never leave me?'
'Yes.'
'Tell me again, Masaki. Tell me. Because part of me still can't forgive what you did.'
'I love you Sho-kun. I will never betray you or leave you.'
'Even if I might not be able to forget what you did?'
'I will do my best to make your uneasiness go away.'
'.....I miss you calling me Sho-chan.'
A drop of tear fell.
