oh my gosh......
so the new season of so you think you can dance or as i like to call it....so you think you're a legacy and/or a specialty dancer....is underway.
tomorrows episode is going to be sooo crazy. the couples and styles are...
1. Anya & Danny - Jive
My thoughts on this couple : Nicely paired... I think danny will do well in contemp, broadway styles and I think anya will be excellent at the ballroom. I think these two will struggle with hip hop but I am excited to see them try...I dont really have strong feelings for either of them except danny is hot.
2. Pasha & Jessi - Smooth Waltz
Again, I dont love either of these two. However the difference is...I think these two are unfairly paired at their own disadvantage because Pasha was not very good at anything other than his ballroom and I think that Jessi's style is odd and her range is not huge. I like her more than Pasha...but I don't see this couple going far.
3. Neil & Lauren - Club Salsa
Sigh. I honestly shouted when I saw this. I am soooo happy with this partnering because I think the two of them are phenomenal. Neil does lots of jazz/contemp and he has a lot of pairing experience because of his musical theatre background. Lauren is wonderful. I really can not say enough about them. The only way this could have been better was if they made it a three some with Kameron. I am sooo pumped to see this club salsa and for the two of them to win the competition.
4. Chuy & Sara - Pop Jazz
I like Sara a lot...I met her in chicago and she is so sweet and really talented. I see her doing really well in contemporary/jazz/hip hop and same with Chuy. I really think this is a strong pair and I think pop jazz will work in their favor. I'm not in love with either of them but I think they are talented, deserving, and will compliment one another.
5. Cedric & Faina - Hip Hop
Cedric is fantasic. Faina is a drama queen...almost as much as Olivia from auditions...remember her? I dont care for this partnership. I think she will lose it early on in the competition much earlier than he will. Although I dont see either of them being incredibly versatile. Hip Hop will be a struggle for this couple. I think he will be pulling her up a lot.
6. Jaimie & Hok - Hip Hop
Jaimie is sick. Shes so talented. Her hip hop will be very jazzy but I think she is awesome and almost an unstoppable force specifically with her reputation thus far. Hok will be fantastic at hip hop but nothing else. I think he will hurt her a lot but I think these two will be fun to watch. I think he adds personality to her technique.
7. Sabra & D-trix - Disco
I think these two will be a force to reckon with. I think sabra is a silent hero as of now. I see her as a huuuuge threat to her competitors. She is so fun and reallllly strong. D-trix is obviously amazing and more versatile than all the b-boys in the top 20. I am pleased with the two of them and I think disco will be fun.
8. Shauna & Jimmy - Broadway
I think that shauna is great but I feel like the only reason she is in the top 20 is because Nigel is a dirty old man. I swear...and this is from personal experience the stuff that man says is ridiculous...I dont even remember the two of them from auditions... their personalities seem lacking but I know that their dancing will help to make them a couple to remember...And broadway is a simple style that I think they will be challenged in to show personality.
9. Lacey & Kameron - Contemporary
Im obviously biased about Lacey because her last name is schwimmer and I dont like benji. I am obsessed with Kameron. I think he is beautiful and I think he is sickly talented as well as fun. I see the two of them doing well. I think Lacey will be more inclined to pick up the choreography compared to her bro and heidi from last season. I am stoked to see Kameron dance contemporary and I think they will both go far.
10. Ashlee & Ricky - Argentine Tango
Apparently these two are not well received. I like both of them very much. Specifically Ricky. I think the kid is awesome and so funny. Not too tough on the eyes either. I think his hair makes me laugh, his smile is infectious, his arms are insane and his creepiness is charming. I want him to stick around. Ashlee is like one of those...who is that? girls. I feel like her stomach will keep her around for a few weeks. I think these two will have a tough week because of the style but I dont see them going home.
My bottom two couples would have to be pasha and jessi and cedric and faina. Although if Ashlee and Rickey struggle as much as I've heard I can see them in there too. Out of those six dancers I wouldnt mind seeing Faina and Pasha go home. Do I think they will? No. Because the powers at large will not send home two ballroomers the first week. We will seeeeeeeee.
