First Chiropractic Adjustment

Aug 13, 2008 16:37

The chiropractor has this very troublesome procedure for first-timer. First of all, the first visit was just asking lots of questions on lifestyle, past injuries, taking photos of me standing in front of a grid board, taking some measurements, etc. Then, the next day, I had to go and get a series of X-ray taken.

Today, which is the 3rd day, was the review of the Xray, which showed my spine to be quite out of alignment, especially the neck part. In fact, the chiropractor told me I was one of the more complicated case they have seen thus far. Is this a scare tactic? I was like thinking - what did you expect? I was in pain, of course I couldn't be maintaining a ramrod straight posture!

My pelvis was also out of alignment, which I was not too surprised because I knew that ever since the babies came, I walked a bit funny, like not quite balance.

A lot of sales talk, a lot of niceties (which made me quite skeptical). The chiropractor even called to ask me how I felt after my first adjustment.

Well, the first adjustment was today and it was real quick. Less than 5 minutes. I could feel the popping, but it was not painful. I was just real glad that I could turn my head after that! Before the adjustment, I could not turn my head to the right.

Right now, I don't feel the sharp, pinching nerve pain when I turn, but I can still feel the soreness of the muscles around the area. Probably the aftermath of 2 weeks of pain.

Tomorrow, will be the catch part. So far, it has been all niceties. Tomorrow, we will talk about money. I am sure. I am sure the pitch would be to get me to sign up long term to 'improve wellness'. I don't care about 'wellness'. I just want my neck fixed so that I won't be in pain and can sleep!

Oh, today, I spoke to another person at the clinic, wanting to get some feedback. That lady was very sold on chiropractic care and was seeing another chiropractor in town for a while. She came for this one because of the convenience.

For me, as I said, I just want my neck fixed!
