Oh yeah! So happy to see an update. And it was well worth the wait! This story is just priceless. And you write so well. The characters are so dead on I can hear their voices in my head.

But now I am really curious about the scar on the back of Dean's neck. What is it and why won't he talk about it? And I'm anxious to see what the new hunt is. I like how you had him remember the hospital. And I love the banter between them. Especially about the nightmares.

Great update! I am so glad you are sharing this with us. I can't wait for the next one!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying it. :D

The scar is one of those things that happened while Sam was at Stanford that Dean just Does Not Talk About. And I'm afraid both of them are dealing with so many different things at once that Sam's unlikely to have a chance to force details out of him in this fic.

Thank you again for your lovely feedback!

Love this -- I like how Dean can get angry now at all the things his father forced him to do -- even if he says he understands "why".

Good story. can't wait for more

Thank you so much! And yes, I think that's something Dean never really had the luxury of doing before, unlike Sam. I'm glad you liked it. :D

And as it happens, Chapter Four has just been posted - I actually received your comment while my beta and I were doing our last check-through, hahahaah, which was fabulous.

Thanks again!

Hurrah, thank you! I'm really glad you're enjoying it. :D

And LJ is a bit weird with notifications sometimes, isn't it? I don't quite know what's up with it. I am so flattered that you would do that, though! *dance of glee*

Ooh, very interesting that the ritual made Dean remembering every little detail of his life. That would certainly be overwhelming.

Another good installment here. I especially liked the bit with Dean wishing he’d gone with Tessa before John made the deal. I'd love to see something like this onscreen. It'd be a great scene.

I also really liked Dean and Sam’s confrontation while driving to see Bobby. Really nice tension there.

Favorite lines:

Sammy was crouched in front of him, surprisingly close, with that expression of worry on his face that always made Dean want to break whatever was causing it. But he had a vague suspicion that was him, this time, and he was feeling plenty broken enough for the time being.

Love this, the first sentence because of course Dean would want to hurt whatever was bugging his brother, and the second because poor Dean really is pretty messed up here.

"What exactly is it you want, here, Sam?" Dean demanded instead, stepping up so close as to be almost intimidating, height difference be damned. "You ( ... )

Hurrah, thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter!

This image of them in the same room, together but so alone and unable to share their grief, just makes me ache for them. - Yes, the post-IMTOD episodes kill me, the way both boys are suffering so much and are finding it impossible to really help each other. *huggles them*
