a few new things
Listen, I'm moving out and I'm hanging out and before that I was stressing out. So, I literally have a stack of new zines to add to the catalog that is bigger than my head. It'll happen in due time, but for now I have a few new titles to tell you about:
CHINESE SWEATSHOP #1 and #2 - I picked this up at the New Jersey Zine Fest a few weeks ago. Elsie puts together a really eclectic zine, where each page is beautifully-designed and many include inserts or zines-within-the zine. She writes about her experience moving from Hong Kong to New York with her husband. Both issues also include recipes and art ideas.
PICARESQUE #5 and #7 - This zine comes to us from Australia and is indeed a play on the title. A literary form defined as the autobiographical, structureless chronicle of a "rascal," the Brendan exaggerates the picaresque (or adheres fully to it) in his zine. A collection or numbered paragraphs (out of numerical order), both issues are well-written and interesting. A good zine.
Alright, like I said, I'm moving out of my house. If you can take some zines off my hands in the coming weeks, I'd really appreciate having less to move. And all US orders over $35 receive free shipping. It sounds like a lot, but you'd be surprised at the savings.
