1. Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System (Portal)
"The Enrichment Center promises to always provide a safe testing environment. In dangerous testing environments, the Enrichment Center promises to always provide useful advice. For instance, the floor here will kill you. Try to avoid it."
2. Chimène (Le Cid)
There isn't a particular quote which properly sums up her awesomeness, but this is the play which set up the basic contradiction between love and duty which has appeared in every single romance in every medium ever since - and Chimène, unlike some protagonists I could mention (*cough* Buffy *cough*), makes the right choice, without regard for how much it hurts her.
3. Amy (John Dies at the End)
Amy said, “So, you’re making a flame-thrower?”
“Amy, we gotta be prepared. We don’t know what we’ll find in that place, but for all we know it could be the devil himself.”
“David, what possible good is that thing gonna do?”
“Oh, no, you didn’t hear me. I said it’s a flame-thrower.” Girls.
4. Ashley (Mass Effect)
Commander Shepard (consoling Ashley for failing to prevent her squad from being wiped out by Geth): Geth are the perfect killing machines. They don't breathe, they don't -
Ashley: Sir, they have flashlight heads.
5. And even though she pisses me off a lot of the time, especially in the later seasons, I really can't leave out Willow:
"Well, when I'm with a boy I like, it's hard for me to say anything cool, or, or witty, or at all. I-I can usually make a few vowel sounds, and then I have to go away."
