Let me try to get my head round this guy... he's presumably a conservative christian - you know - one of those people who backed Bush and his war administration...

Actually, Savage doesn't like the Bush administration at all, and he's not Christian, he's Jewish (but not particularly religious). And last I heard, he wasn't voting Republican.
