Reading the Hunger Games series

On the last book, Mockingjay. Liked the first two books, but

I just can’t stand fucking Katniss/Peeta anymore. Don’t like the whole “If you force something on a girl enough, she’ll eventually like it.” I mean, first to survive in the games, second by Snow to save Gale’s family. Oh, but Peeta’s “perfect” and so so good, such a bland character he barely has a flaw. He makes Katniss irritating also. First she’s all badass and resourceful dropping killer bee nests on bitches and blowing your shit up so you STARVE, (ok that’s not good, but...) then every time Peeta’s involved she turns into this whiny, over-emotional little girl who’s SO CONFUSED about her feels. It’s driving me crazy. Story’s going along fine, there’s action, there’s plot, there’s rebellion. Back comes Peeta, cue Katniss’ emotional instability and his creepy over dependence and neediness. If she ends up with him I’ll cry.

You know who I like? Team badass Katniss + Gale, breaking the rules, bringing home the bacon (or squirrel), trash talking the Capitol where you can’t overhear, and feeling each other up while they’re incapacitated.

Katniss + Gale

Hunting is illeagal:
Let’s go hunting, feed our families, and make a whole enterprise out of it

Sharing food in 13 is illegal:
Eat some of my turnip mush when no one’s looking

Soldier Everdeen, you are not dismissed!
Fight with bitches so you can run off and have a mental breakdown in the closet

Orders not to engage in combat?
Kick bitches in the face (poor Boggs) so you two can run up and shoot down planes like a pair of bosses

But watch, Gale will be made out the bad guy, because he’s good at war, so we can blather on more about Peeta’s goodness. As usual, shipping ruins everything. Author shouldn’t fix Katniss up with anyone and focus on the important story. Leave the shipping to the fans.

Ugh

I bet I”m the only one who feels this way.
