You're the dream that hasn't ended
And I'm still waiting for the rest...

Nothing at All

A bead of sweat dropped in an unwavering line from Miroku’s forehead, broken by his hand as he half-heartedly swatted a stray fly away. It was just too hot for this. Too hot to be walking around, looking for yet another shard (they were in no scarce supply), too hot to even think about…

A few metres ahead, Kagome gave a little skip, exclaiming at something Inuyasha said. If he’d had it his way, the fairer sex would all have been wearing a nice little outfit like that, years ago.

Admittedly, it was vaguely terrifying to picture his mother in that garb, and maybe not that fat old lady they’d seen at the last village… but, at least Sango anyway.

As Kagome gave another bounce, the monk gave a small sigh of satisfaction. No, it was decidedly not too hot to think of groping…

It was evening when they finally stopped, the stars just beginning to stretch open their fists and take over the sky. The summer night was clear and cool, a gentle breeze seemed to tickle the edges of the universe.

The grass he had slumped down on was soft, with a fresh smell about it. Blinking owlishly up into the rapidly darkening sky, he could see the stars perfectly, and up Kagome’s skirt, too. With the wind blowing as it was, he’d estimate about five seconds before something highly interesting happened.

Five… four… three… two…

And then Naraku in the form of a small body with a tail leapt onto his stomach.
