Okay, not-so-random question for everyone: You have a friend who is having a horrible day/week/whatever and they are pretty depressed. What suggestions would you give for creative ways to cheer them up?

randomness, life

If it's someone online, a trip over to www.mycathatesyou.com will cheer anyone up.

If it's a friend IRL, either therapeutic shopping or a good glass of wine and a sympathetic ear for his/her rant is just the thing.

LOL I love mycathatesyou.com I should probably submit some pics of our kitten to that site. She seriously hates me and some of her pics show it.

What exactly is therapeutic shopping? Wine and chatting does hit the spot many times.

It's shopping for fun-- not because you need anything, but because, say, that new pair of shoes is cute and you want them. Doesn't work for everyone. :O)

Yeah, that would likely drive me nuts. I'm not that keen of shopping, and I get nervous in malls (especially near the holidays when people are crazy). Plus, I get really annoyed when I'm stores while finances are tight because I shouldn't be buying anything. Most people probably aren't as weird as I am, though. ^_^

Nah. It's always important to stay in the budget, and I have several friends who hate to shop. I have a particular affinity for stress shopping at Target or Lowe's, which inevitably means home projects that don't get finished.

My mom and likes to go shoe shopping for stress relief, and so does my sister. When she was out in Denver with Dad, she bought 6(!) new pairs of shoes. I'm not that bad, lol. I only bought one pair.

Malls generally freak me out, too.
