Mostly metal, but a few oddballs.

Ihsahn - After [Undercurrent is one of my favorite songs ever.]
Agalloch - Marrow of the Spirit [Finally these guys are getting recognition!]
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs [Epic.]
Enslaved - Axioma Ethica Odini [Also Epic.]
Nachtmystium - Addicts: Black Meddle Part 2 [ 70s Psychedelic black metal for those who don't like black metal.   ]
Twilight - Monument to Time End [ Isis meets Nachtmystium meets the Tron Soundtrack. ]
Triptykon - Eparistera Daimones [ Oh Celtic Frost, how about you DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.   p.s. listen to "A Thousand Lies" to understand. ]
Neil Young - Le Noise [ So nice to listen to. ]
Darkthrone - Circle the Wagons [ So simple, so metal, it's like Motorhead for 2010. And Fenriz crooning! ]
Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis [ I don't know how they keep this pace up.   They must be seen live to truly understand. ]
Deathspell Omega - Paracletus [ French metaphysically religious black metal, complex but strangely catchy.   ]
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy [ Imma gon' let you finish, but I don't know how he pulls this magic off after teh crazy. ]
Underworld - Barking [ Not quite as good as Oblivion, but a few standouts ]
Overkill - Ironbound [ THRASH METAL at its finest in 2010 ]
How to Destroy Angels - S/T [ Nine Inch Nails with a female touch ]
Watain - Lawless Darkness [ The new face of popular black metal. They smell (literally) in person though due to a mix of pigs blood and b.o.  You think I kid!  ]
High on Fire - Snakes for the Divine [ Best album cover ever. ]
Cloudkicker - Beacons [ Ambient progressive metal. Great background music, very mathy too. ]
Dark Fortress - Ylem [ German black metal. Somehow it caught me. ]
Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier [ The finaaal frontieeer... The final FRONTteeeeer, you know, it's not GREAT but it's good enough that I still play it & remain proud of these guys ]
Shining - Blackjazz [ WHAT IS THIS I DONT EVEN ]
Caribou - Swim [ soothing ]
Intronaut - Valley of Smoke [ mandatory hipster metal, think Isis meets Mastodon + lots of pot ]
Bonobo - Black Sands [ so nice to see this guy back in form.  Jazzy trip-hop / chill at its finest. ]
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross - The Social Network Soundtrack [ the foundation of what made that movie so great ]
