This morning, in honour of the occasion, I presented my Biology prof with an apple and our former genetics professor's compliments. Quite something to do first thing in the a.m.
Today is also Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Oregon's 150th birthday will be Saturday, Valentine's Day. My father and stepmother were married sometime this week about 12 years ago. (I wept.)
Biology continues. Labs continue. Charles still tries to dominate Bunny, who will have nothing of it. Marie simply wishes to cuddle, and Veronica wishes everyone would just stay home. Their =own= home, preferably.
Snow Tuesday. Sun yesterday. Lovely fog today. (I really do like fog.) Off tonight to hear Susan Haack speak about "Science Wars." Some conference is being held in the States for clergy who don't think evolution is a pile of nonsense. (That's news?)
Birds are singing and I've seen my first starling. (Ugh) The seagulls stamp the ground to stir up the earthworms so they can eat them. I've never seen that before this winter. Clever things.
The weather is terrific, though very little rain. I wish I could get out of town.
love,
M
