Joyeuses Paques!
This morning when I was waking up, I was reminded of a joke that Cooper drilled into my brain ALL throughout lower school.
Knock Knock
Who's there?
either
Either who?
Either bunny
knock knock
who's there?
nother
nother who?
nother either bunny
knock knock
who's there?
cargo
cargo who?
cargo beep beep run over either bunny
oh dear. The things Cooper makes me remember...
This morning the Easter Bunny came really early and left us this amazing breakfast...mini cakes with chocolate bird nests on the tops, mini chocolate eggs in the birds nests and a chicken on the top. AMAZING....you should see all the desserts that they have in paris. We also got chocolate bells.
Instead of the Easter Bunny coming, french children believe in a different story.
On Good Friday, all the bells from the churches around Paris fly to Rome, playing a sad song along the way. Then, on Eastern Sunday they fly back to Paris, and back to their own churches, singing a happy song- on the way, dropping candy and chocolate for every little kid...awwww...how cute.
So, the bells gave me the chocolate this morning, not the Easter Bunny.
After that, we went to Church of the Madeleine. It is the most amazing church I've ever seen (besides Notre Dame, of course)...It is so beautiful, especially the statue of Mary Madeleine. So, we went to mass there and listened to the sermon in french. Then we walked back, along the Champs elysees.
I'm going to try to get all my homework for vacation done today- and study for my exams on tuesday (at 8 AM!!!!!- how mean is that!) and on wednesday.
xoxo,
Nina
