A few tips for coping with the current posting bugs

Aug 21, 2011 12:31

Four days and still no end it in sight.
While we're waiting for the LiveJournal developers to get off their asses and take action, here are a few tips for dealing with the defective posting system.

1. Use a third party posting client. There are plenty to choose from, for both WINDOWS and MAC. For windows users, I suggest Semagic and for Mac users iJournal (I forewarn you that none of the Mac clients support rich text)

2. If you can't download a client, because you use a work or public computer:

DO NOT use the rich text tab, or the the imbed buttons on the plain text tab. Type in your entry and any HTML codes you need, manually, in the plain text tab. Do not use any of the LJ generators and do not switch to rich text mode to check your results. If you need to double check your results, use the preview button.

If you aren't familiar with HTML, you can use these generators:

TEXT EDITOR
LINK GENERATOR
IMAGE CODE GENERATOR

If you need a cut, this is your code:
This text will appear behind the cut

Last but not least, COMPLAIN TO THE LIVEJOURNAL DEVELOPERS. The more pissed of users they hear from, the better.
Go to THIS POST and comment on any problems you're experiencing.

Good luck, everyone!
