Yesturday I went to SF with Chai. She had to do an assignment at the Asian Art Museum and didn't want to go alone, so I tagged along because I was promised we could go to Chinatown afterwards (and I love Chinatown).
Once in Chinatown we decided to get some food, and because there are so many resturants there (and I only know a few) we decided to eat at the first place that shoved a flyer in our faces, 'cause why not. I knew almost instantly upon arriving at the resturant that it was one designed for inexperienced tourists, but I was hungry and didn't feel much like leaving at that point. It was strange...they gave out free melon...but no tea. I don't know about other parts of the country, but in this part of CA fee tea with your meal is pretty standard stuff...I was there with one other person and they tried to sucker me into ordering another portion of noodles. I've been eating at Chinese resturants all my life, so I know that single portions are usually huge and there isn't any need to order more than one portion of something especially if you're only there with one other person. I guess they thought I was an out of town tourist or something and wouldn't know that. That resturant was sneaky. They're one of those places that includes tip on your bill, hoping you won't notice and tip them again. But I did notice, so I didn't leave a tip. Muahahaha...
Afterwards we did some window shopping and went to the Gelatto place (it's really good). We tried to make it back in time for the 6:45 shuttle back to school (which for some stupid reason is the last shuttle of the day on Sundays) but we just barely missed it. We saw it leave just as we were going to meet it. We had tried to call the shuttle driver and ask him to wait for us, but he wasn't answering his phone. Grrrr... in the end we had to take a taxi back to school. Me hates the shuttle!
