Last night, I crammed like all hell for my French Revolution final, tried sleeping, but was kept awake by thoughts of friends and life and such. You know, the usual. So I took my final this morning after 2 cups of coffee and 4 hours of sleep, then napped from 1 in the afternoon until dinner at 6. Actually, that's a lie, because I was drunk at dinner, so I actually woke up earlier than 6, but I forget the actual time. Then was a lot of dancing and music and a long walk off campus to a party in a cold apartment, followed my a longer and colder walk back. And here I am, almost sober!
I guess that means it's time for a
What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
A lot. Traveled abroad, lived abroad, interned at a professional magazine, did not touch my violin for months on end, certain drug-related behavior, slept with a man, hooked up with a complete stranger, (previous two events not connected), bought a new car... basically, grew up a whole lot, not to put too cheesy a spin on things.
***
Did anyone close to you die?
No.
***
What countries did you visit?
England, France, Spain, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland.

January 4: flight to London
May 15: flight back to the US
***
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Living in a foreign city.
***
What was your biggest failure?
Probably something dumb like getting rejected from an internship or a failed hookup attempt. No biggies.
***
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just the basic things.
***
What was the best thing you bought?
The hairgel I am currently wearing. Endorsed by Katharine McPhee.
***
Whose behavior merited celebration?
I don't knowwwww.
***
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Britney Spears.
***
Where did most of your money go?
Traveling, clothes, food, Starbucks. Not necessarily in that order.
***
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Obviously going abroad; my internship; visiting friends in various places over the summer; my classes this past semester.

What song will always remind you of 2007?
Avril Lavigne, "Girlfriend"
***
Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?: far far far FAR happier
ii. thinner or fatter?: um, I lost a lot of weight in London but gained a lot of it back... so overall, a tad thinner, I think.
iii. richer or poorer?: far poorer. whoever said money doesn't buy happiness is a fool.
***
What do you wish you'd done more of?
Exercise, and proper money and time management. I don't necessarily regret slacking off as far as school, but I guess I could have trimmed away some of the sitting-around-my-room time and turned that into getting-work-done time.
***
How will you be spending Christmas?
In slumber and relaxation.
***
How will you be spending New Years Eve?
In New York City, but avoiding the crowds of morons downtown.
***
Did you fall in love in 2007?
Sort of. It's complicated and a work-in-progress, if you will...

Not really "hate," but that's the basic idea.

A good internship, a fulfilling semester back at college, a great study abroad experience... wow this whole thing sounds really cheesy...
***
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Hasn't been my birthday yet!
***
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not running up the large credit card bills which I did, to be honest and hopefully not too superficial and materialistic.
***
How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Tighter-fitting clothes, more shirts with horizontal stripes and weird designs rather than the hordes of vertically-striped or monotone shirts that I own (translation: more crap from Urban Outfitters than from J. Crew and the Gap).
***
What kept you sane?
Spending more time with friends than slaving over school work. I've been a ball of stress these past, like, 7 years, I deserve a fun and socially fulfilling senior year.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Amy. Fucking. Winehouse.
***

I detached myself from politics more than I ever have before. And that's saying a lot. Whatever.
