when the going gets tough...

The boss is off sick.  The third member of the department is off on Holiday.  I am the project department today.

There is quite a lot of work to be done... and tomorrow is the start of the dreaded "BAU" "BD4/5" crap.  So what do I do?  I procrastinate by updating here of course.

Last week ended on a bit of a high.  Not the work... oh no... but at home time!  S had just been stood up so on the spur of the moment we decided to play pool.  This was kind of a continuation of previous plans that had been thwarted... so we already had a venue in mind.

We headed to Sloane Square and after wandering around in circles (damn stupid map) we finally found the place.  It was neither as posh or as bad as I feared.  There was slight confusion over the need to be members (the sign says members only after 11:00... but you need to be a member to play... so non members can come in before 11:00 but can't play?)  so we signed up and shot some pool.  S was surprisingly good for someone with a broken rib.

After perhaps one game too many we quit and headed home.  I was convinced I didn't need to see S home - she'd be alright... or so she said.  I got a text as I got home saying she'd ended up back in A&E... the pool playing had been too much and she had a rib poking in her lung.  We shall be skipping the pool for a while until she is better.  I felt like a complete git for not insisting I saw her home.  Oh the dilemmas of being a modern man.  I heard from her last night so she is back home and recovering.

Saturday Misty came to visit.  We had a long talk about what's happening... and then another... (and another Sunday morning...) We shopped at Woolies, we went walking to the lake in Bretton's Farm but turned back when we could see it was under a couple inches of standing water.  We had fish and chips (the first I've had in ages.)  Mum called (and was surprised to find Misty at the other end of the phone) to tell us about the pink moon!  We saw the first half of the total lunar eclipse...  but completely failed to stand there for the full 2 hours!  I still haven't seen a pink moon.

Sunday I discovered that the CD's we'd bought on Saturday were just empty cases.  We spent way too long in Woolies trying to find the missing cases to prove that they had one more CD than they had cases.  After what seemed like hours they finally gave in and gave me my CD!

Sunday afternoon was spent as the 'rents.  Dad and I watched a few episodes of Battlestar Galactica - I think I'm getting him hooked... so I should probably shell out for the next series at some point!

In wow related news - there has been no wow in over a week.  I shall have to remedy this soon!

weekend, marriage, s, work
