No - I haven't gone for the pox test... get your mind out of the gutter!

So much has been happening - so little of it journal worthy. There was a truck load of work. To summarise look at any of my previous posts where I rant about how shit work is.

There was a couple of highlights.
Big Roy left work. Big Roy should not be mistaken for tall Roy... for he is a different fellow! Big Roy was my guv's guv's guv'nor. He's a man that drink some. There was a note that went around before his last night to say if anyone managed to outlast him- they could have an extra hour lie-in the following morning. An extra hour!?! Cheap skate bastards! I booked the day off!

It was about as messy as I thought it would be. There are bits I don't remember - and I was shocked to find my iPod missing the following day and even more shocked to find a nano in it's place. After a bit of careful thought I remember swapping them (temporarily) with Bilquis!

I woke up in the afternoon with a hangover the size of Ipswich and headed back into work... on my day off... because I'd agreed to play a game. What was I thinking? It's just that it's hard to say no to certain people.

After a lunch date, the game meeting, and a bunch of work (the bastards) I headed to the 'rental units. Dad and I had tickets to see the Bootleg Beatles at Cliff's Pavilion in South End. Jim Snr. was kind enough to give us a lift and I met Jim Jr. et al there. The gig was great - they do a damn fine job of sounding like the Beatles would have sounded if they hadn't given up gigging!

I was home late but managed to get up early enough on Saturday to clean up the front room in time for laa-laa's visit. (Listening to Bilquis's tunes) The previous weekend Dad and I tackled the kitchen (and I've managed to keep it tidy) as the house was suffering a little from "bachelorism" ... which is just a couple steps away from botchulism.

The iPod had an amazing array of rap on it from American Black gang style to kind of Bollywood style. There were occasional songs I'd recognise thrown in (like U2, Lenny Kravitz, Shakira) but the majority of it was undiscovered territory. It was a real eye opener!

Although the work wasn't wasted, it was something of a shame that laa-laa journey was blocked by a pile up on the motorway and she had to turn back home. This left my weekend plans in a void... so I played a little WoW and watched all three Cube films.

There's a story about broken ribs (not mine!) that needs to go here - but I need permission first. After that there was a severe bout of insomnia which was helped by catching up on Karina's latest vlogs. (side note - today's article is an interesting piece about WoW by Joi Ito)

I woke early on Sunday (for a change) which considering the time I finally got to sleep was almost a miracle! I listened to the radio for a while before getting up and heading over to the rent's again for dinner. Dad and I watched a couple of Paul Newman films (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Hustler) before I headed home quite late! There was almost midnight pool... but the broken rib thing got in the way.

Today has been a bit of a return to the shitty work front, but has ended well enough with a good workout at the gym.

Bilquis and I swapped iPods back (which was good as I'm not sure I would have wanted to listen to rap during my workout!) Her summary of my tunes: "Depressing" (I think she actually said "Oh my god they're so depressing") I need to find jolly tunes to balance things up a little! :)

I got home to find a file from laa-laa... a recording of Danny Oakes dumping someone's girlfriend on live radio. I was feeling sorry for the lass until upon hearing her boyfriend had just bought her an engagement ring the first words out of her mouth was "how much was it?" After that I lost all sympathy. Go listen - it's probably the cruellest thing you'll ever hear! - The dumping on live radio is pretty cruel too. So tell me dear reader - unforgivable cruelty or just deserts (and I'm talking about the dumping on the radio)?

I have to head off to bed now - as I have to fly to Lux tomorrow and that means a 05:00 start... and we all know what the 0 stands for...
