As promised, the next chapter. I guess this one is a bit transitional, and does not yet feature any surprising relevations or explanations. However, if you look for the clues - they are there. ^__^ Furthermore, I hope the formatting and the links work as supposed, seeing as my connection is being a little shaky again.
Title: What Should Have

I thought there was one big explanation in this chapter - Mori-undemon wants human emotions. I have no idea why. It seems like emotions would only interfere with a demon (or undemon) using their powers to their fullest capacity.
I'm very concerned for Tezuka. Based on his calm mental state, it sounds like Mori got at least a portion of his humanity after all...it's just that she unexpectedly lost (most of?) her powers in exchange. But a Tezuka missing even some of his humanity and gaining instant magical powers...I'd say it's a good thing Yumiko should be waiting on the other side of the pool because his personality is in serious danger of warping.
Leaving Fuji behind will probably be important. I do think that he died as a result of the stab wound - his sacrifice is what fueled the power exchange, after all. But whether she's being honest or not, I could see her offer Fuji's body and/or promising some revival technique in exchange for Tezuka reversing the ritual and returning her powers.
Great update! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't get lost. ^.^

The big explanations might have to wait a little longer - until the protagonists manage to gather themselves a bit better. For now, Tezuka is rather confused - he realizes he has changed, but does not understand the demon powers yet. And as the ceremony did not work perfectly, he also retained a part of his humanity.
Yumiko's ability to help is going to hinge largely on Fuji's condition. She might be calm, but in face of the rather grave events she might have to sort out her own emotions first.
And while the following chapter is lacking in big explanations, there are going to be some. Your guesses are also headed into a very, very good direction. Mori isn't entirely out of the picture yet, after all.

Tezuka as a demon, I didn't quite expect that transformation, but I hope with his new gained power he would be able to use it to eventually revive Fuji. I am hoping you wouldn't leave Fuji dead.
As I've mentioned...such a great story Mona-chan!
