Okay. I'm about five minutes home & I'm going to write as much as I can before my bladder shuts down.
First things first, sorry for the gap. Even if you weren't directly bothered, I'd like to save some face and pretend to have a sense of deadline.
We are at the end of the week. All opportunities for extra credit have been filled in and locked tight for this semester.
It's a relief, despite the maddening deuce of traffic clogging 9-A, Route 9, and the Taconic Parkway--every feasible means of getting home. But a tricky series of diagonal paths and back-roads have moved me back to warmth, safety & peace. along with St. Vincent's debut CD.
laugh at traffic--that is how to keep from killing yourself.
exaggerate the tone of every goddamn song that comes on, until it is either despair or triumph. Pick triumph, always.
(author's note: at this point I can hear that angry clog on 9-A, down the embankment about 300 yards from my window, all honking and cursing and crying.)
listen to Pharoahe Monch.
Whatever your opinion of rap is, this man will change it:
"Still get it poppin' without artist & repertoire/
'Cause Monch is a monarch--only minus the a + r"
Every line he spits is so clever and well-placed it's a marvel he hasn't been shot yet. But that's probably because nobody has heard anything about him, other than that he was the 'godzilla' guy. Check out 'Desire,' his most recent and strongest release, as of last June.

Sleep/Eat
We don't realize until we're charged with it how useful our own health is. Funniest thing about college: "IT FEELS GOOD TO GET WORK DONE..." "SLEEPING is incredible!" or, "I was hungry, but now I'm full..." Eating and sleeping and general maintenance go so far. I haven't gotten sick once yet this whole fall, simply out of at least 25 hours of sleep a week, at least 2 small meals a day, and a shower on average of every day and a half. Disparate food staples include milk, broccoli, cranberry juice, cereal, meat, & peanuts; all constant background power, with adderall, nicotine, caffiene, and chocolate for the long hauls.
Also: Hamburgers & Power Naps = constant energy.
Keep a bottle of water and a snow scraper in the car.
Always have an updated CD book riding shotgun.
And never go outside without a sweet hat.
for advice with any of these things, seek me out on facebook. esp. the music bit.
Good luck dudes.
-holy fuck i need to piss like what the fuck,
