Footnotes on "Into The Sun"
Notes: Here are some of the things I didn't mention in this story, at least the ones I wanted to put in but opted not to anymore. In no particular order:
1. The first time Kris went into the physical battle against Kai (yes, it's him), Joonmyun intentionally didn't give him a shot of the concoction. Kris has pretended for a time that Joonmyun has believed his act already. It's also a test for Kris.
2. The 2nd battle against Sehun (I have no idea why I wanted to kill off the maknaes) happened days after Joonmyun walked in on him and Baekhyun. By that time, he's been taking shots of the medicine and Tao hasn't been talking to him. For a while there, his memories and emotions are really leaving him. It's a test whether they fight better with the concoction or not.
3. Baekhyun decided to help Tao and Kris because he could have done something like this for Chanyeol. He has stopped giving Tao the same concoction after finding out they talk through the wall.
4. Chanyeol is actually under Joonmyun's care after the open fire incident and Baekhyun only gets to see him inside the sanctuary. Joonmyun occasionally gives Chanyeol the concoction. Baekhyun never mentioned Chanyeol's name for years because he was scared that Chanyeol will try and kill himself again once he recovers his memories.
5. I mentioned that they work outside legally as well. Baekhyun is also the town's doctor along with Chanyeol. It kind of hides the fact that they do illegal activities on the deserted part of the island.
6. Chanyeol never registered D.O as family and they (Baekhyun and him) visit D.O as doctors. He is registered as Kyungsoo, a patient with anemia. It's the reason they can visit him without raising suspicions to the assassins guarding the two doctors.
7. Chanyeol told them to look for D.O because it's the nickname only he and Baekhyun used. It means that Kris and Tao were really in contact with Chanyeol and /or Baekhyun.
8. Chanyeol ran back to the facility and blew off the fuse of the searchlights. They only saw / heard the eastern searchlight go off because Tao and Kris headed to that direction, but everything went off.
9. Chanyeol killed himself with a gunshot to the head while cradling Baekhyun in his arms.
10. They have been erased from the facility's database and they weren't really chased after that night. The alarm went off late and they were already outside the facility. Dead bodies and Chanyeol in the parking lot already stopped them from chasing anybody else. They thought it was just Chanyeol as the escaped subject that ran amock again.
11. They are able to leave Korea for Japan. East = where the sun rises. Japan = Land of the rising sun. D.O was able to provide them their birth certificates and they start from there.
12. If Kris and Tao did face off that day, Kris would kill Tao and he'll run amock inside the facility. Bloodlust really is a side effect of the medicine. It's got a stronger effect on Kris because Tao has been hesitating to fight since the first bout. (He fought twice too, the 2nd caused him the wound on his stomach) Kris didn't hesitate against Sehun. This is actually an ending I considered doing but I would be straying away from my inspiration.
13.Don't ask me about the lack of security in the parking lot, I did that because really, if I don't, I won't have any idea how they could escape.
14. Tao is a curious type of subject. He actually always asks if someone is in the next room everytime he wakes up. Kris just happened to respond that day. Tao seems to know alot because he pretended as well, and Baekhyun told him things since the doctor thought he doesnt understand and wont respond to him anymore.
