Tao glares at his breakfast, glares so hard that you'd think he's burning the eggs and bacon delicately prepared by Kyungsoo.
"Something wrong, Tao-tao?" Baekhyun asks, but all he gets is another glare, "Don't call me that!" Tao hisses then stands up to leave the table.
"What's up with him?" Kai asks as he watches the Chinese maknae head to the living room.
"Leave him be. He's missing his favorite gege." Luhan tells the group as he continues with his breakfast. "He's just mad that he didn't tell Tao about his plans to go to China."
"As if he told anyone." Suho comments, "Sehun, don't eat that!"
"What? He left this already, and it wasn't touched and I'm hungry and I'm a growing boy!" The maknae whines as he puts Tao's untouched food on his own plate.
"You've grown enough. Luhan-hyung can tell." Chen adds, said doe-eyed boy turns beet red and Sehun throws a fork at Chen, "Shut up."

"Tao, you should rest." Lay tells said boy when he finds him inside the training studio sweating and panting from wushu practice. The raven haired boy shakes his head and then flips mid-air continuously. "Well, I need to use the studio for my dance practice too."
Tao glares and screams, "I hate you! I hate all of you!" Then the maknae marches for his bag and angrily leaves the room. Most would be offended by the gesture (or the outrage if you prefer) but Lay only laughs it off then sends out the event via text message to everyone.
Xiumin and Chen are playing a video game when Tao enters the dorm. "Hey, Tao!" Xiumin calls out, the maknae turns with his nose flaring, "What?"
"Kris called."
Tao obviously calms and a small smile appears on his face, "He did?"
Chen snickers, "No, he didn't. Just playing with you."
And with that, a throw pillow lands hard on Chen's face and the maknae walks into his room, kicking off his socks and throwing his wushu stick and then buries himself with his blankets.
"I hate you. I hate you. Why did you leave me?"
Tao suddenly sits up when the door to his room opens and Xiumin stands by the doorframe, "He did call. He told me you can get Ace from his room if you miss him that much."
Tao doesn't answer, he instead rushes pass Xiumin and less than 20 seconds later returns and lies on his bed clutching the alpaca plushie tight on his chest, "Good night, gege." Tao calls out, and then goes to sleep hugging the doll and taking in the scent Kris left behind.

"Do you guys know when Kris will be back?" Chanyeol asks the next day while most are in the studio for their comeback's rehearsal.
"Well, he said last night that maybe tomorrow? Or the day after? I can't remember." Xiumin responds, still fixated on playing with his iPhone.
"Hey, M." Baekhyun calls out to the members of the subgroup, "Does Tao always become like this when Kris isn't around?"
"Uh-huh. But I guess this time he misses him more than ever since we're in Seoul and dhuizang is always with him when we're here." Lay replies while dancing in front of the mirror. "That kid."
"Are they... You know?" Kyungsoo asks the M members, still apprehensive to ask the question properly. "Dating?" Chen continues for him and the wide-eyed member nods.
"Are they?" Chen asks his fellow members who laugh hysterically at his question, Chen then turns to Kyungsoo, "Isn't it obvious?"
"There's fanservice and the real thing." Sehun adds as he copies Lay's choreography. "Those are mighty words coming from you, li'l maknae." Chen laughs at his own comment, and Sehun throws a towel on his face, "WHY ARE YOU GUYS THROWING THINGS MY WAY THESE DAYS!?"
"Yes, they're dating. They started dating just a few months ago and I guess Tao is having a harder time because now it's just not his leader who left, it's his boyfriend." Luhan explains then stands up to do the dance routine with Lay and Sehun.
"And you're used to leaving Sehun behind too." Chen adds again, Luhan glares at him with a water bottle in his hand, "Say what, Chen?"
"Nothing, hyung! Nothing!!!"
"By the way, where is Tao?" Suho asks after noticing that the Chinese maknae isn't in the training room with them.
"He and Kai went to grab ice cream." Kyungsoo tells their leader, Suho's eyes widen. "Ice cream!? In this weather?! Those two might get sick and lose their voice."
"He asked Kai. And Kai will not refuse a tantrum-throwing Tao. You try to refuse him and you'd get your sorry ass wushu'd for sure." Chanyeol responds without looking up from the piece of paper where his rap parts for the new song are written.
The 9 members resume practice then 10 minutes later, Kyungsoo's phone vibrates and he reads a message from Kai, "Guys, Kai's in trouble."
"What?!?!?" Suho panics, "What happened!?"
"He just texted me, 'HELP ME!!! Tao is practically shoving me pints of vanilla ice cream so I can get a lighter skin color!!!'". Kyungsoo replies, the rest of the boys laugh, "Oh that kid." Lay comments then dials Tao's number.
"Hey, Tao?"
"Busy right now, ge!"
"I don't think you'd like Kris to know how you're torturing everyone."
The line goes dead, Lay looks at everyone, "Kai will be saved, don't worry."
30 minutes later, Tao walks inside the studio, Kai walking behind him then runs and hugs Kyungsoo, "I hate vanilla ice cream! I'll never eat vanilla ice cream ever again!"
"Had fun?" Lay asks, Tao hisses at him.
"He'll be back soon, don't worry." Xiumin comforts their maknae by patting his back, Tao shrugs him off, "He can rot in China and I won't give a damn!"
"Wehhhhh?" Chen mocks and Tao's shoe misses him by a foot. The others laugh but it gets cut off when Tao's phone rings. The Chinese maknae answers as he leaves the room.
Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Chen try to follow him to eavesdrop when Suho stops them, "Come on guys, a little privacy here?"
"It's obviously Kris and it's gonna be interesting!" Baekhyun argues and Chanyeol nods next to him.
'I HATE YOU, KRIS!!'
"Shoot! That's not good!" Luhan exclaims and the other members near the door step away, finding places where Tao's wrath won't reach them when the Chinese maknae returns.
But Tao doesn't return, instead Xiumin gets a text message that their maknae isn't feeling well and will head back to the dorm. "Our Tao's really not taking this whole separation situation well. We're sorry." Xiumin apologizes, the rest of the K members respond with reassuring words that it's alright, as long as nobody aside Chen is actually physically hurt.

It's way past midnight when everyone returns to the dorm, Xiumin heads to his shared bedroom with Tao and finds him sleeping, with Ace thrown off the bed judging from the distance between the doll and Tao. The oldest sighs and texts their leader, "Come home. You've tortured him enough and we've endured so much."
"Hey, Tao?" He calls out, checking if his roommate is still awake, he hears low grumble and takes it as a sign. He sits by the younger's side.
"Don't be like this, okay? We understand you miss Kris, but you don't have to be angry all the time. And you don't have to take it out on the others. They're your hyung and gege after all."
The older doesn't get a response but when he's about to stand he hears a soft whisper, "I'm so sorry..."
Xiumin smiles and pats Tao's shoulder, "Good night Tao."
Xiumin wakes up the next day around 11 in the morning and Tao's bed is empty with alpaca doll neatly placed on the bed. The chubby-cheeked boy smiles, it's warm but he feels different. He steps outside in time to find Tao bowing to everyone, "I'm so sorry. I've been acting up. I'm so sorry."
Living together as a dozen boys of course means chaos on situations like this. Everyone starts speaking, saying the same thing, consoling the maknae, laughing at Tao's gesture and hugging, and teasing and it's all just headache and true friendship.
They're in the middle of deciding what to have for lunch after Tao's apology (attention spans of goldfishes, thank you very much) when the front door opens and Kris walks in, pairs of 11 eyes watch him enter, "Woah, hey there." The tall blonde greets everyone awkwardly, those eyes, especially the dark ones isolated in the middle feel like he's judging Kris' very existence.
Tao marches towards Kris, and the other 10 boys hold their breath, Kris does too. "Tao, I..." Kris gets a punch in the face, and a bone crushing hug next. "You asshole." Tao mumbles against the crook of the blond's neck, "I missed you..."
If anybody else punched him and called him an asshole EXO would definitely be looking for a new member, but Kris lets go of it, because it's Tao and it's adorable and he's crying and the blond is in love with him.
"Welcome home!" The other 10 finally greets him, Kris smiles and hugs Tao against him tighter, "I am home."

Author's Notes: This is all because of his QQ update. Ugh. The moment i read "Someone is back." after Kris returns to S. Korea, my shipping heart just wanted to write this. hahaha.
