Hands akimbo, the brunet stands firmly by the doorway, "I'm pretty sure you have an idea of what time it is already."
The raven-haired scratches his head, "I do, but this is kind of important?"
"Couldn't it wait til tomorrow's meeting?" The brunet is still refusing entry.
"Won't you just let me in?"
"Fiiine." Rui steps out of the door and gives way to Umi who goes inside immediately.
The older man removes his sandals then heads straight to the living room.
"I've let you in, I didn't say you can make yourself at home."
Umi laughs, "You know, the fans are so wrong about you. You're grumpier than I am."
Rui smiles followed by a light laughter, "Yeah, yeah. Make yourself at home."
The bassist heads to the kitchen and leaves Umi in front of his already opened laptop (he was trying to get himself sleepy by browsing the net until their leader came knocking on his door).
"What are you here for anyway?" Rui calls out from the kitchen.
"Remember when your laptop crashed and I lent you some of my softwares so you can format it?"
"Yeah?"
"My laptop kind of died on me so I'm gonna have to do this now or else I won't be able to sleep tonight. You are so kind to not return it to me when you're done."
Rui walks back to the living room to see Umi's laptop already set up beside his, "Well, you see... I kind of lost it. I'm sorry!" Rui closes his eyes, waiting for anything to be smacked on his head (Umi smacks the head of their members whenever they do something bad to the leader. He's never been smacked, though. This might be the first) but nothing hit him.
"I kind of know. I mean, you're Rui. Clumsy, messy and vain Rui."
"Wow. Thanks leader-san!" Rui sarcastically remarks then just returns to the kitchen.
"So yeah, I'll just download it from your laptop okay!? And really, it's not a permission." Umi laughs as he starts browsing the web for a downloadable software he can use to restore his laptop.
"Here." Rui returns with 2 cups of coffee in his hands. "It's almost midnight..." The bassist cranes his neck and checks the download time "And with an hour left before download finishes, I think we can use some caffeine."
"Thanks." Umi takes a cup and sits on the couch, away from the coffee table where both laptops are set.
Rui sits beside him and drinks his coffee silently.
"Sorry I had to disturb your night."
"It's okay. It's you anyway." Rui smiles then cuddles closer to Umi. The guitarist doesn't protest, instead he pulls him closer as they watch the bars of the download to progress.
"You have a damn slow internet connection, Rui."
"Shut up, leecher." Rui leans his head on Umi's chest and just cuddles with him as they enjoy their coffee.
"You know, I'm kind of thankful my laptop crashed. It gave me a reason to come here." Umi tells Rui as he plays with the brunet's hair. "I mean, you know."
Rui presses himself tighter to Umi, "Yeah, I know."
It hasn't been that long since they started dating, and their bandmates, they both believe, still has no idea that they are now a couple. It was unlikely. Even for the fans, they seem to be the less likely people to date in real life. If it's Tomo and Rui, it could have been more possible.
But no it isn't.
It's really Umi and Rui dating now. And they both decided to be really subtle about the relationship: no obvious dates, no sleep overs, no sweet and cheesy stuff in public and on camera.
"It's my first time sleeping over. With us dating."
"You're so cheesy." Rui gives a peck on Umi's lips then settles on his boyfriend's chest again.
They both get startled when Umi's phone rings and they stare at each other's eyes when they see the name flashing on the screen: TOMO.
"Don't answer that!" Rui grabs Umi's phone away from him.
"Rui! I always answer my phone!" Umi tries to answer the phone but Rui rejects the call. "RUI!"
"Why?! Hmnph. You always answer Tomo's calls."
"Well, I'm the leader and he's the vocalist... We kind of work closely together."
"Whateveeer." Rui pulls himself away from his lover and settles at the end of the couch placing a huge space between them.
"Jealous?" Umi asks with a huge ass smirk on his face.
Rui raises an eyebrow, "I'm not."
"Then give me my phone." Umi signals Rui to hand him his cellphone but the younger man won't. The phone rings again and it's still the same caller on the other end of the line.
"Rui, give it to me." This time Umi's face is serious and his voice is firm. This scares Rui a bit so he gives the cellphone back but returns to the end of the couch away from his lover.
Umi gives a discerning look at Rui first before answering the phone, "Yes, Tomo?"
The leader stays quiet as he listens to Tomo on the other line, Umi chuckles during the conversation. This irritates Rui and Umi notices this, he crawls next to his lover and gives him a kiss, the bassist pouts but eventually gives in and cuddles again with Umi.
"Yeah, yeah... I'll tell them. Shut up. Don't get ahead of me. Bye." Umi ends the call then looks at Rui, "Busted."
"Busted?" The bassist asks, Umi chuckles softly next to him.
"Tomo was in my apartment just now."
"AND WHY!? He comes to your house every time!?"
"No, he doesn't." Umi pulls his lover closer, "I kind of... Forgot to lock the door so he entered my place to see if I was inside. And you know Tomo..."
"Nosy, sneaking Tomo..."
"Yeah. He kind of find it thrilling to snoop around my place. He was calling the first time to check where I was to tell me I forgot to lock my door then he started looking around. Found our pictures in my room and some of the clothes you left last week."
Rui blushes and laughs uncontrollably, "Oh my! What kind of pictures did he see!?"
"You sleeping next to me, us having dinner at my place... Stuff... Stuff couples do."
"Ah I see what you're conversation's about now." Rui lays his head on Umi's chest, "I get it now..." The bassist yawns continuously and eventually he turns quiet.
"Rui?"
"Hmn...?"
"It's okay to tell them, right?"
"Yeah...ishddloejahvejru"
"What's that?" Umi brings his ear closer to Rui's after the bassist mumbles.
"Idheyrlojhfrulvejrjykou..."
Umi smiles when he hears Rui snoring silently and calmly on his chest, he kisses his boyfriend's forehead, "Yeah. I love you too."
He looks at the download's progress, there's less than 30 minutes left to it. He looks at his sleeping boyfriend then back to the laptop's screen, he smirks, "That can wait til tomorrow."
He kisses his lover's forehead again and closes his eyes as he drifts to sleep to join Rui in his world of rainbows and butterflies in dreamland.
