To my readers, I am sorry but for the meantime, i am indeed locking my KPOP fics both in livejournal and AFF due to EAT YOUR KIMCHI's tweet looking for KPOP fanfictions. I am locking my fics not because I think my works will be linked to them, I am locking them because fanfiction is not be treated like this.
I've been writing for different fandoms since 2009 and i've been around writing fanfictions for years, obviously. I have never encountered anybody in real life or online of wanting their fanfictions be connected to them in real life. I don't tell my real life friends that write these kinds of stories online, unless i've met you through the fandom and through my works, but if not, you would never know (my high school bestfriends and college classmates until now have no idea i write these things, they just wonder why i have a lot of stories to tell).
NOW.
Do not give me this fucking argument:
- "woah woah why are you people all getting worked up about it? Don't publicise them if u don't want them out there..."
- "the author has put their story online publicly consent is not required when the whole world now has the right to read"
Because, bitch please.
For one, I started publishing my works online not expecting anything. i never expected the number of readers i got. I started publishing them for myself. It's a way of expressing my thoughts and creativity, getting people to notice wasnt the intention, but i am thankful.
Secondly, not because i posted it online, i am giving everyone a free-for-all chance to decide what happens to my work. It's still mine, no matter how you put it. Come on, getting a fic translated still needed a permission, more so getting it to a viral youtube channel.
I hope that you understand that there are people, writers like me, who do not want their online persona connected to their real lives. There are writers who are professionals in real life (i work for the government) and these kinds of things (fangirling, fanfiction-writing) can lessen a person's professionalism especially in a corporate world. Being in a professional world as a fan is a thousand times more different than being just a student spazzing with a fellow classmate. You dont spazz about a comeback to your supervisor. You dont ever spazz about a fic's update nor your fic's comments to your officemate who's 10 years your senior.
So, for now, ALL my kpop-related fanfics are friend-locked.
PLEASE. DO NOT ADD ME AS FRIEND THOUGH BECAUSE I REALLY WANT SOMEONE WHO TALKS TO ME WHEN YOU ADD ME UP ON LIVEJOURNAL. YOU CAN FIND MY FICS ON
AFF IF YOU'RE A MEMBER/SUBSCRIBER AND YOU REALLY WANT TO READ MY OLD WORKS.
Saying all these, it's fairly obvious that I DONT WANT ANY OF MY FICS LINKED TO EAT YOUR KIMCHI.
I assure you, I will not be posting anything new anyway, so until this Eat Your Kimchi shit is over, my fics will not be made public.
thank you.
